Lakshadweep is group of thirty six islands off the kerala coast in India. Lakshadweep has meaning “a 100 thousand islands” in Sanskrit & Malayalam language. The union territory is fame for lush green landscapes and white sand beaches that are open to tourists and visitors. There are even inhabited islands in Lakshadweep. The permits are available for visitors to get allowed. IN the islands one can go scuba diving, snorkelling and kayaking as there are lot of coral reefs in the region.
The approved gazetted holidays of the Union territory Lakshadweep includes festival celebrations like Republic Day, Independence Day, Good Friday & Christmas Day. Some of the other holidays are in connection with the respective religious calendars. Except to the Muslim religion whose holidays are observed upon moon sight namely Baravafat Razab, Ramzan and Moharram remaining hindu and christian holidays do not change as approved.
